Susan Starr
My Bio
Susan has always had an interest in photography and in the past few years has focused exclusively in that field. She finds photography a way to explore her curiosity and develop her technical skills as an artist. She studied at Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles and received her B.A. in Art from California State University at Long Beach. Susan went on to work in graphic arts for the next 25 years and has taught both darkroom and digital photography. Her love of travel allows her to explore and photograph people, cultures, and places around the world. Among her achievements, she has done publicity photography for events, as well as dabbling in photographing products and fine art. She has exhibited locally in galleries and coffee houses. Susan is a member of PhotoZone Gallery and Emerald Photographic Society (EPS) and has held both board and chair positions. As a photographer, she expresses her vision in a well-defined way, whether it is landscape, wildlife, or a portrait. She uses Lightroom and Photoshop to process photos as an art form, bringing a sense of wonder and joy to the observer.
Susan shoots with a Nikon D810 and a D600 that has been converted to capture the infrared spectrum. The photographs in her gallery are both color and infrared.
